Hi there! I’m Vedant Bharate, a Computer and Electrical Engineering student at the University of Cincinnati. I’m passionate about designing innovative tech & aviation. My journey so far has been a blend of academic challenges, creative projects, and personal growth.
Fun fact: I’m an aviation enthusiast who’s flown a Cessna 172 and built parts of an Airbus A320 simulator! Thanks for visiting—I can’t wait to share more about my world with you.

My Background
Hi, I’m Vedant Bharate, an international student from India currently pursuing a double major in Computer and Electrical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. My journey to the U.S. began when I was just 17 years old, embarking on my very first solo trip—a mix of excitement and nervousness as I left home to chase my dreams.
The trip itself was an adventure! I flew through London, where a canceled flight unexpectedly turned into a three-day layover. The airline booked a hotel, and I took the opportunity to explore the city and even visit family. That brief glimpse of London added an unforgettable chapter to my story before I finally arrived in Cincinnati to start a new life.
Adapting to life in a new country was both challenging and rewarding. Over the past two years, I’ve built lasting friendships and embraced the vibrant culture on campus. Being an international student has shaped my perspective, teaching me resilience, independence, and the value of strong relationships.
Today, I’m not just thriving academically but also contributing to my community as an RA and pursuing exciting projects like AeroQuest. Every step of my journey, from that first solo flight to my experiences here, has been a testament to growth, curiosity, and the willingness to take on new challenges.
Hobbies
AVIATION:
Aviation has been a lifelong passion of mine, and it has truly taken flight during my time at the University of Cincinnati. With over 150 hours in Microsoft Flight Simulator, I’ve honed my skills to the point where I might even be able to fly an actual Airbus A320! My dedication doesn’t stop at virtual skies—I’ve built an Airbus A320 instrument panel to elevate my simulator experience and had the opportunity to fly a Cessna 172 through a campus aviation club.
Beyond the cockpit, I’ve explored my love for aviation by attending events like the Cleveland Air Show, where I was one of the lucky few to witness the last flying A-10 and the Blue Angels in their complete form. As I prepare to start formal flight training, these experiences remind me why I’m so passionate about flying.
Innovation Challenge:
The Innovation Challenge at UC has been an incredible outlet for creativity and collaboration. Since starting at the university, I’ve participated every year with a group of friends, coming up with innovative ideas that push the boundaries of possibility. It’s not just about the projects; it’s about the journey—brainstorming, learning, and growing together. The challenge has been a highlight of my time at UC, and I plan to continue participating in it, fueled by the joy of turning ideas into reality.

Traveling:
Traveling is more than a hobby for me—it’s a way to explore and embrace the world’s diversity. My love for traveling began with my first solo trip to the U.S., and since then, I’ve taken every opportunity to see more of the world. I’m known for booking long layovers to explore new countries, a trick that has taken me to London three times and Istanbul during a 13-hour layover (plus an unexpected 20-hour flight delay) and a whole 24 hours in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Each journey adds new stories, cultures, and experiences that shape who I am today.
Woodworking:
Woodworking has always fascinated me, and now I’m finally diving into it. I’ve taken a woodworking class on campus, where I’m building a shaker-style table as my first project. Inspired by countless YouTube videos, I hope to design and build furniture for my room, starting with a large, custom table for my setup. I’m eager to bring my ideas to life and would love your input—feel free to share suggestions for table designs through my contact form!
